Around the World

12 October 2016 By admin

At the end of 2015, pianist Kathryn Mosley and I were selected by Chamber Music New Zealand’s Encompass, and we toured the country earlier in 2016. In addition to the five Encompass concerts, we arranged other concerts for ourselves, and appeared in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Gisborne, Wanganui, Cromwell, Gore and Motueka. Our programme focused on the music associated with New Zealand’s great author Katherine Mansfield – music by the cellist she loved in London, Arnold Trowell, and music we know she loved. The concert went down particularly well, even though some of the repertoire selected was unfamiliar. We were very lucky to have most of the cello section of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra at our Wellington performance!
